The story of the NIDO brand began in 2021, but three years passed before it was realised. I still remember the time when I lived in a shared flat and bought the cheapest curtains in Switzerland from a well-known shop. The problem was that these curtains were only available in standard sizes that didn't fit my windows.
Curtains are not just decoration - they give us a feeling of protection, safety and security. They create an atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Nevertheless, I bought these cheap curtains even though they were about a metre too long. Finding a suitable tailor was neither easy nor cheap. When I told my boss about my curtain situation, she realised the problem and offered to shorten the curtains for me. The next day she brought her sewing machine into the office and I was over the moon. That's when the idea of the NIDO brand was first born in my head.
A few years later, I moved into my own flat, which I had just for myself. The problem with the curtains returned, this time to an even greater extent. Anyone who has ever moved house knows how important it is to make your new home cosy and inviting. For weeks I searched for the perfect curtains, but either the size wasn't right or they were too expensive. At that moment, I decided that something had to change - the idea of 2021 was going to become a reality.
